MERCEDES-MAYBACH 6 CONCEPT COUPE LEAKED: PREVIEW 2017 PRODUCTION CAR
Leaked pictures: Mercedes’ luxury sub-brand Maybach releases second teaser of 6m long mega-coupe concept ahead of full reveal on Friday.
Maybach is making a comeback with a new concept car that reveals the future direction for the brand. A set of pictures showing the Mercedes-Maybach 6 in full has leaked online ahead of the full reveal, giving us a proper look at this huge coupe.
We’ve also had a couple of pictures from our spy photographers of the car being prepared for display at Pebble Beach this week. The pictures are grainy, but show the sheer scale of the car in more detail.

As you can see, it appears to be a (very) long-wheelbase coupe that’s destined to rival the Rolls-Royce Wraith and other super-luxurious sporting models when a production version lands in 2017.
The huge wheels, long bonnet and rounded tail all give it a very futuristic look, but it’s the interior that really looks like it’s 20 years ahead of its time. The strange seats, minimalist dials and swooping dash design all give it a unique look. It’s certainly a far cry from the kitted-out Mercedes-Maybach S600 limo.
Official teaser picture also show the front of the concept car. There’s a set of slim headlights and a gigantic chrome grille that dominates the front-end. It also shows more detail of the door mirrors, which are likely to use cameras rather than glass: a common theme in modern concept cars.
The brand previously revealed a video teaser for the Car that shows some more of the huge coupe. It gives us a closer look at the design of the concept, but is still very much a teaser.
The concept car is clearly a two-door model, although the long body may mean it houses four seats, rather than being a two-seater sports car. It looks a little like a stretched-out Mercedes S-Class Coupe from the side profile. The statement supplied with the car gives little away: “hot & cool – Almost 6 metres of ultimate luxury” is the Maybach line.
A length of nearly six metres suggests that it’s a modern interpretation of 2004’s Excelero, which was a V12 sports car in turn based on the idea of a modern 1930s luxury car. The concept is believed to be a longer, wider and more luxurious model to sit above the S-Class Coupe in the Mercedes family line-up and we expect to see a production version of the new car at some point in next year priced from around £240,000.
It will be officially unveiled on Friday 19th August at the Pebble Beach show in California.
