1. Aliko Dangote

Claiming the top spot on the Forbes list of Africa’s Billionaires list is Africa’s richest person, founder, and chair of Dangote Cement the largest cement producer in the continent- Aliko Dangote (63). With a net worth estimated at a whopping $12.1 billion, he owns 85% of the publicly-traded Dangote Cement, through a holding company. Dangote Cement has an annual production of 45.6 million metric tons of cement, with operations in no less than 10 countries all over Africa. Much like the other billionaires on this list, Dangote also owns stakes in salt, sugar, and oil refining industries proving that it pays to diversify.
