Virgil Abloh, who is of Ghanaian descent, has been named as Men’s Artistic Director for LVMH Louis Vuitton. Abloh owns the label Off-White which was a finalist in the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2015. He is also known for having worked with Kanye West as his creative director.
Abloh said “It is an honor for me to accept the position of Men’s Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton. I find the heritage and creative integrity of the House are key inspirations and will look to reference them both while drawing parallels to modern times.”
