The Blacklane PASS – services on offer
The Blacklane PASS provides a range of services to choose from. The Arrival Service includes the concierge who meets you at the gate, expedites immigration and customs, plus coordinates the ground transportation. The Lounge Service provides access to the airport lounge, where you can enjoy complimentary food and drinks, WiFi, showers, TVs and timely flight updates. No longer do you need to fly First class, or have a gold credit card, to have access to the lounge. With the Departure Service, you will be met at the curbside at the terminal and helped with check in. Then you will be escorted to the front of the security line, taken to a lounge before your departure gate. Plus, there is also a Connection Service (MAD), which is similar to the arrival or departure service, but with additional perks. These include expediting immigration and customs, and rechecking your luggage, if necessary.
Feeling like a celebrity
Before going on my business trip to Shanghai, I was offered a chance to try Blacklane PASS and make my long journey much more comfortable. The booking on the website was quick and simple, and I went for a range of services to really experience the ‘Blacklane way of travelling’. Firstly, I got the business class Ground Transportation Service from my home to London Heathrow. It was a seamless door-to-door journey and booking was simple. On the day of my ride, I received SMS and email updates, with the name and contact details of my chauffeur. Once done the security, I took advantage of the Lounge Service with the Blacklane team sending the lounge pass a day before. After a glass of champagne and a nice lunch, it was time to board the plane. 11 hours later, I landed in Shanghai and was met by Blacklane agent as part of the Arrival Service. A pleasant English-speaking Chinese lady helped me through immigration and with my luggage. Once at the arrival gate, she ensured that the tall and handsome chauffeur was ready to lead me to the shiny Mercedes Benz. The car not only had Evian water and snacks, but also Wifi and magazines to keep me occupied.
The Verdict
All I can say is that the Blacklane PASS provided me with the seamless experience, and gave me much needed confidence and help in the country I was visiting for the first time. The booking process was easy and took a few minutes, plus it showed all-inclusive, guaranteed rates at the time of booking. What made a difference for me was that all the concierges spoke English and tracked my flight, to ensure I was on time and they were there once I arrived.
